Many people in Britain today live in Victorian and Edwardian brick terraced houses. We love their history, their character and being part of an established community. But with solid walls, uninsulated floors and sash windows they can be cold, draughty and expensive to heat. Rooms with two or more external walls are often the worst affected.

My Terraced House was born out of a passion for these older terraced houses and a desire to share expertise on how to make them warmer and more comfortable to live in. Much of what you find here will be relevant to other types of older homes, including those which are detached. With neighbours on both sides, a mid-terraced house is actually quite energy efficient compared to an end of terrace or detached house.
