As the owner of one or more properties, you will be aware of the requirements of the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standard (MEES) which prohibits the rental of homes with an F or G Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). You are probably also aware that the Government is also proposing to extend this to homes with a D or E rating from 2025 for new tenancies, and 2028 for existing tenancies.
If you are a private landlord concerned about these changes, then this is the right service for you. Upon receiving your instructions, we will arrange to visit the property to complete a draft EPC. We will then use this data to model the improvements needed to achieve the desired rating, and make recommendations about how this can be achieved in the most cost effective way.
We will also work with you and your tenant to establish whether there is any funding available to help you with the cost of improvements. All this information will then be sent to you in a brief follow-up report.
If you go ahead and make improvements we can revisit the property again later to collect the data needed for a new EPC for a 50% reduction of the normal cost.
